Evening #KCRyders! Today, YTV's The Next Star Season 6 crew has stopped in Vancouver! It's been a great ride thus far according to tons of excited tweets from the judges and the crew themselves; auditioning tons of ambitious hopefuls, aspiring to be The Next Star's Season 6 champion! Upon this journey Vancouver's Vancity Buzz chatted with our girl Keshia Chante about her role in the hit YTV show, as well as many other things like how she spends her downtime, her philanthropy with CANFAR, as well as the ever popular subject, progress on the late, Aaliyah Dana Haughton's biopic.
On yesterday Keshia Chantè threw a concert for the lucky winners of the CANFAR "Keshia Hearts CANFAR" contest! Complete with background dancers, and a DJ in tow, Keshia wowed an surprised crowd of Canadian high schoolers from Aurora High School and she performed songs from her extensive catalog, of to which the crowd eagerly sang along. Evening #KCRyders! The grind for our princess just doesn't stop! And that's a good thing, because we can clearly see that Chante Season has returned! From judging on Season 5 of YTV's The Next Star, to her recent guest judge appearances on shows like Canada's Best Beauty Talent and Food Network Canada's: Top Chef Canada, it seems the momentum for Ms. Keshia Chante just won't quit! And now, to add to her resume once more, CANFAR's official Youth Ambassador has announced that she's teaming up with CANFAR and Panasonic Canada to raise awareness for HIV and AIDS, with a new ad for Panasonic's cool new headphones! Today CANFAR's Youth Ambassador, Keshia Chante paid a special visit to Northern Secondary School, to talk to some very lucky and amazing students for the annual "Have A Heart" campaign week. Keshia was even entreated to a song by their CANFAR club, after which she spoke to the students and signed autographs and shirts for her #KCRyders. Hey KC Fans! Today is day seven of the Kenya Trip with Evolve Tours! We're playing catch up on LKC due to the Blogger server being down. We updated on http://luvkeshiachante.tumblr.com/ but now, we're able to update here as well. Check out some amazing new photos of Ms. Keshia at the Irura Primary School in Nanyuki which she posted on her official facebook page! Keshia twitpic`d today as she helped finished painting one of the classrooms at Irura. You can read below, and play catch up on the CANFAR Keyna trip itinerary with us.
Day 2 to 5:Community Project 1 Our service project site, the CEDEC Orphanage in Nanyuki caters to 70 children from ages 2 to 18, where many of the kids have lost both parents to HIV/AIDS, and many of which also struggle with the disease. This is one of the undoubted highlights of the trip – a real insight into another culture that also throws a fresh light on our own lives. Help the school and orphanage develop infrastructure by building new classrooms, have a go at teaching sport and English, organize a soccer match and more.
Day 5:Community Project 1, Market and Hospital Visit Continue with the service project and visit the hospital in Nanyuki to see first-hand the lack of facilities and overcrowding that are common to these medical centres. Speak with the doctor on duty about the problems they face as medical practitioners in rural Kenya.
Day 6:Community Project 1, Homestead visit Continue with the service project. Speak with locals about raising kids in Kenya and the quality of education. Head out with the herding boys and gain an insight into child labour that the family requires to survive.
Day 7: Safari Day A full-day wildlife safari in one of Laikipia’s huge wildlife sanctuaries, either Ol Pejeta and Solio. See Kenya’s most famous animals, known as “the big 5”: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinoceroses.

KC & VicPark's wrap up of 'If U Say' After hard day at work in the studio, Keshia and the INCREDIBLE production team VicPark just put the finishing touches on her next single 'If U Say'. The producers and Keshia were just being silly once the studio session was done, it showed us a side of KC and VicPark that was very much fun. It wasn't serious or ego-driven, just positive vibes all the way! That is where the smash singles come in! Not when you have an award-winning producer and songwriter working with you but when you have a good time recording the song and have producers that are going to collaborate with the artist. Hey KC fans! A little quick news for you for the week of Febuary 13th, 2011. Keshia has been extremely busy attending Katharine Demarchelier's Luxuary Swimwear launch preview for 2011, as well as premiering her new single 'Set U Free' and gearing up for intense promo for her new single. Her official website KeshiaChante.Com will be relaunched with a new look and an interactive space for her fans designed by Harmonic Concepts early next week. In May, Keshia will being going to Kenya as CANFAR's official Youth Ambassador to help build an orphanage and interact with people supporting the cause. Last night Keshia proudly tweeted that she was in New York supporting her boyfriend, net-mender, Ray Emory at his first game back on the ice since his injury. Talk about dedication, congrats Ray! Keshia confirmed via tweet today that she and her team are shooting for Monday February 21st to be the relaunch date of her official website KeshiaChante.Com. For those of you who have been fans from the very start or may have heard of her through her second album, '2U'. Keshia has always made sure that her webiste is extremely interactive and easily accessible for the fans. She's been putting in a lot of work into making sure it's right too! She was photographed earlier this week going through exclusive behind the scenes content that she plans on posting on her website.

Keshia is no stranger to doing good, which only makes sense that she would partner up with CANFAR and be elected their Youth Ambassador. This May, Keshia and CANFAR will be traveling to Kenya (from May 9th-May 23) to help build an orphanage, see the living conditions there first hand, explore the wildlife and speak with people who are working just as hard to make a difference to put an end to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
