WATCH: KESHIA CHANTÈ CAMEOS IN CBC'S REMAKE OF "SUNSHINE SKETCHES"

Submitted by Linda

At most KC's camera time in the CBC remake of the 1952 classic, "Sunshine Sketches of A Little Town" equates to all but two-minutes. Thus rightfully labeled a "cameo" not a feature. However Keshia uses her camera time wisely, and you can tell that she's becoming more comfortable as she comes into her own both as an artist and a budding actress.

The day before "Sunshine Sketches" aired I read an article that mentioned exactly what song Keshia would be performing, and after looking it up I was anxious to see just how Keshia would make the song her own. Clearly she does amazing soul-stirring rendition of the Burton Cummings 1977 classic "I'm Scared" and you can watch it below. You can also watch her brief acting clip as well. Hopefully she takes on more acting roles, or cameos it'd be great to see her extend her acting resume.

INTERVIEW: Virgin Radio 96

Hey KC Fans! I hope that you all are having a good Saturday morning and we have something special for Ryders outside Montreal. As you can see, our girl has been ripping and running with interviews from left to right all day yesterday leading up to her performance at La Mouche. She was interviewed by Cousin Vinny (@CousinVinnyMTL) and talked about Montreal, Night & Day's release, the hiatus, Set U Free and the 4 a.m. tweet, lol. Keshia also discussed the Aaliyah movie project for a bit and talked about how Aaliyah's family and people that knew her are still coping with the passing but like she said in the first Ustream "When the time is right." she will be apart of it. Vinny also put KC's French-speaking skills to the test and she excelled plus because she loves Montreal she is working on a French version of her new single "Set U Free". Peep everything that KC said below in the link! http://montreal.virginradio.ca/blog/CousinVinny/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10227486

NEWS: KC mentioned on BET.COM "10 Things We Want To See In Film `11"

 Submitted by Albert (@koolkidincash93)

Today, Keshia was mentioned on BET.com's list of  "Ten Things We Want To See In Film in 2011". This should come as no surprise because this has been something fans worldwide have been anticipating since this rumor was sparked almost four years ago. This has probably been the most tweeted question to Keshia and to us here at LKC. And as we've always said, Keshia can't speak on it. Keshia herself has even said so. Filming on said 'Aaliyah Movie' is currently categorized as being 'on hold' which means, the Aaliyah Movie has NOT been film yet.  And here it is Keshia is mentioned yet again. Hopefully next time BET gets her name right! Lol According to the Haughton family, Rashad stated publicly during twitter several months ago, that he wasn't interested in an Aaliyah movie. No word as to what Aaliyah's parents think on this matter though. Keshia stated, "When the time is right, it'll be right. And right now the time is not right but when it is, I'll be for it 100%."

10. The Aaliyah Movie
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Aaliyah’s passing. So, where is the Aaliyah movie? Last we heard, the director of Dreamgirls, Bill Condon, was set to direct and Canadian actress Keisha Chante would play Aaliyah. Hopefully, we at least get a release date in 2011.

Peep our video from her first Ustream back in April of 2010 as she speaks on the Aaliyah Movie rumor below.

Luv KChanté Exclusive: LKC Interviews Keshia Chanté (Pt 3)

LKC Interviews Keshia Chanté
Part 3 'Final Thoughts'
What's next for Keshia after Night & Day?
Will she get into acting or will she continue
to make more music? How does she feel about
acting & the future? Find out below.

As Told To LKC
November 4th, 2010

Would you ever start a charity or foundation and if so what would it be for?
KC: I am planning on starting my own charity. I've been through some difficult times and was lucky enough to have good family & friends who were there to support me through my darkest days. I was also lucky to have a form of therapy (writing this album) and encouraging fans who I would get messages from everyday that would remind me that I had more to do. They became my motivation. Unfortunately, not everybody is that lucky. I found out through the family & friends that were there for me, that they had gone through similar situations but they had nobody, they went through it alone. I couldn't imagine how difficult that was. I'd like to create something for people, especially girls and guys my age, where they can share what they are going through & have a support team to help them through it, like counseling and other people who are going through the same thing to share their stories. I'd also like to work with Sick Kid's Hospital in a bigger way on making their dreams come true.
What did you learn acting/working on the series 'SOUL' in 2009?
KC: I love acting!! I love being on set with a cast & crew. I always thought I'd have a hard time remembering my lines, but I never forgot them. I also thought, I'd get bored of it and not feel stimulated, but I loved the challenge of each scene and working at trying to get better every day of filming. Acting is a new found love of mine. 'SOUL' also changed the way I sang. I've always been a more technical singer. Having to learn & sing gospel music, it's all about singing with raw feeling and letting emotion guide you as oppose to your ear. It taught me how to let my voice come from my heart and not my head (thinking about it all the time).
What can fans expect from this album and when will they be able to purchase/ hear the new singles?
KC: I think fans can expect an emotional and enjoyable personal album. They will really get to know me & I hope enjoy what I have to offer. I make music because I love it, no other reason, so my intentions have been to make music that people can relate to and feel like the song was made just for them. I've gotten through my most difficult times by listening to music and writing music, so I feel like in this album, I'll be passing that on to my fans.

As for availability, right now Test Drive & Table Dancer are available on iTunes Canada & will be made available throughout the world on iTunes soon! (thank you for your patience!!). We are gearing up for the full launch of "Table Dancer" with a video coming out in the coming weeks. I hope to have the album released in Spring/Summer 2011, but mainly release lots of great singles before hand. I feel my fans deserve an opportunity to truly preview an album before purchasing it, so I'm hoping to put out as much stuff as possible before album release!
What are your plans for the future after promoting 'Night And Day'? Movies? More Acting?
KC: After the album, I plan on taking no breaks and diving into the next album. I hope to write songs for other artists, possibly do some acting, discover other talent (maybe a rock band) & get them signed to a label, I plan on creating a clothing line "collection" but I don't want to be another artist making clothes, I want to study fashion & collaborate with Canadian talent. Also, do more schooling, there are some great business courses I'd like to take. All these things are what I'd like to do, but my priority is making more albums!

We hope that you enjoyed the interview, and if you didn't have a chance to submit your questions for this go-round, be sure and email us at luvkchantemain@yahoo.com  or hit us up on twitter at twitter.com/luvkcfansite and we'll be sure & get them in. UPDATE: TODAY IS VISION TV'S SOUL'S 1 YR. ANN.

Today, Feb 11th marks the 1 yr. Anniversary of  Vision TV's "SOUL". The series in which Keshia starred in as Mahalia Brown. The show ran for one season, from February until March giving a us as fans an inside look into Keshia's acting skills as a Mahaliah Brown, a teen who was torn between the struggle of remaining committed to her faith and the quest for pop-stardom. The show only aired in Canada, but @kchantefans (if you're not following them on twitter, stop what you're doing right now and follow them at www.twitter.com/kchantefans!), the first original American fan-site for KC were gracious enough to allow us to see the entire show in full last year so those of us state-side didn't miss out. The SOULTV You Tube Channel also uploaded the entire season to YouTube for your viewing pleasure. I have to say that Keshia and the entire cast did a phenomenal job on this series and the message that it sends is a strong, yet positive one. We've posted the entire SIX-episode series in HQ via YouTube for your viewing pleasure in FULL after the cut. Enjoy!
