TWITPICS: KC ATTENDS RENEW THE WORLD GALA

Good Morning #KCRyders! No professional photos of KC from Renew The World Gala have surfaced, (probably because it was a private event) but you can check out two photos of KC at the event, one via KC herself and another from Salem Mossallam owner of (@REmixClothingCo) in Toronto, Canada which specializes in vintage name brand attire for the stars. Keshia both attended and performed at last nights Gala (although no word on what she performed). And you can view a photo of KC above at her table and one below of KC with Salem Mossallam the owner of REmix Clothing Co, before she attended last nights event. Whitney...my God.. I'm frozen - KC's tweet in regards to her passing
We wouldn’t have Christina Aguilera without Whitney; Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, they all form a line directly behind what Whitney did,” says Chanté, adding that she hopes other musicians of her generation will learn from what happened to Jackson, Winehouse and now Houston, too. “I try and tell this new generation to stay away from the tabloid stuff, stay away from the negative side of this industry — try not to be another one gone too soon.” - Keshia on Whitney Houston & her contributions to music

WATCH: KESHIA CHANTÈ CAMEOS IN CBC'S REMAKE OF "SUNSHINE SKETCHES"

Submitted by Linda

At most KC's camera time in the CBC remake of the 1952 classic, "Sunshine Sketches of A Little Town" equates to all but two-minutes. Thus rightfully labeled a "cameo" not a feature. However Keshia uses her camera time wisely, and you can tell that she's becoming more comfortable as she comes into her own both as an artist and a budding actress.

The day before "Sunshine Sketches" aired I read an article that mentioned exactly what song Keshia would be performing, and after looking it up I was anxious to see just how Keshia would make the song her own. Clearly she does amazing soul-stirring rendition of the Burton Cummings 1977 classic "I'm Scared" and you can watch it below. You can also watch her brief acting clip as well. Hopefully she takes on more acting roles, or cameos it'd be great to see her extend her acting resume.

BREAKING NEWS: WHITNEY HOUSTON DEAD AT 48

This is a tremendous loss for the music world. It was reported by various sources Icon, singer, actress and legend Whitney Houston was pronounced dead earlier this evening as reported by her publicist. She was only 48. Her legacy as a musical entertainer and one of the greatest voices of all time inspired many acts such as Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey.

On a personal note I remember some of my earlier moments in my childhood surrounded by her infectious music and how we used to play her music a lot around the house and I even remember how my aunts and cousins and I went out to see her movies "The Bodyguard", "The Preachers Wife" and jamming to her music at our annual family cookouts when I was a kid. Her vocal prowess and presence will never be duplicated, but forever she'll be remembered as a musical icon.

From us here at LKC our thoughts and prayers go out to her daughter Bobbi Kristina, mother Cissy Houston and cousin Dionne Warwick, close friend and singer Brandy Norwood (who's birthday is also today and of which she starred with in the 1997 remake of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella) as well as her extended family and friends.
